2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week
From July 29 to 30, the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was held in Guiyang, China. The event was themed "Let Smart Education Better Support the Building of a Friendly Homeland." It marked the fifth anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It served as a national-level platform for educational exchange with ASEAN countries. During the event, the China-ASEAN Lifelong Education Cooperation Alliance was officially launched.
A delegation from the Open University of Sichuan — Prof. Luo Xiaodong, president, and Assoc. Prof. Su Lihua, dean of the College of International Education — participated in the event. The delegation attended the opening ceremony and the international forum "Empowering Lifelong Learning with Digital and Smart Technologies — Building a New Ecosystem for Human Lifelong Learning".
During the event, Prof. Luo gave interviews to Guizhou Daily and Guizhou Television, sharing the University's practices and distinctive achievements in lifelong education. He expressed sincere gratitude to the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week for providing such a high-level exchange platform, and reaffirmed the University's commitment to deepening educational interaction and cooperation with ASEAN countries through this national platform.
Prof. Luo also held extensive exchanges with domestic and international experts, representatives from ASEAN universities, and industry scholars, presenting the University's characteristics in integrating online and offline learning. He highlighted the University's planned international initiatives for ASEAN learners, including online Chinese language training programs and cross-border youth study tour and exchange visits.
